Man vs Technology

Digitization and digitalization is wraping everything inside it. Emails are replacing letters. Gradually, everything is changing into digital form. Schools are also using smart classes for education.
Like this in collages, schools, offices and many other working places is using fingerprint sensors to take attendence. But people are trying to Outsmart the technology.
Technology is developing leaps and bounds. But is it ever possible that technology will surpass the human brain? Well not atleast the cunningness of human being. What made me say this. Recently, a news article attracted my attention. Some people are engaged in the business of making your fake fingerprint clones to outsmart the biometrics attendence. Don't believe me? Just google "Fake fingerprint for biometric". Had been these brains used for some constructive purposes would have prove fruitful for nation.
Now have a glance at another news. While I was curiously googling about the iphone one of the interesting feature of its fingerprint scanner caught my attention. This scanner can sense Living Human fingerprint. Its high time, technology moves from smart to cheatproof.

All work and no play

It is less than a month at Sathyabama and life tends to have picked up pace. Classes, notes, assignments and to top it all – the class test! Then was the shower of relief: the college was organizing a fest! Wow! After all, all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy. So, “Work hard but party harder” is the new mantra. The buzz shifted from studies to “how we will dress-up for the event” to “how we plan to enjoy it”.

The D-Day arrived and we all were super-excited. It was time to showcase our best and how could girls be in a hurry when it comes to look the best! We reached late and the entire atmosphere was charged up. The famed actress Samantha Prabhu was here to spend the evening with us. Oh what an evening! Words are unable to convey the excitement and energy we witnessed there. Just memorable! Thank you Sathyabama for the great evening we students spent together. 

The journey begins

Have you ever seen small girls holding the hands of their mumma or papa and going to school for the first time? A few years ago, I was also standing on the gate of a school in a similar manner. The mere imagination of leaving those comforting and assuring hands was like a nightmare. It was like leaving the known and venturing into unknown.

As time passed and I moved on from class to class and friend to friend, my career aspirations also moved on from this profession to that. It was in high school that I finally made up my mind that I was meant to be an engineer. Why an engineer? Well, maybe it was an outcome of the scholastic evolution in the school!

“Evolution”, what an interesting word! This reminds me of the saying by famous philosopher Heraclitus – The only constant in life is change. This change caused the biological evolution that resulted in appearance of Homo-Sapiens on this planet. The early man changed from being a wanderer-gatherer-hunter to agricultural settlements. He learned to ignite a fire and use it for his benefit. He discovered the wheel and the world became faster. He found metals and all other activities were much easier now. This is how we gradually evolved as mankind.

Then the biggest turning point of the human civilization came – The industrial revolution! This was the time when scientific temperament was truly setting into the common people. Then was the era of the digital revolution, a revolution that made the world as we see it today.

So, nature is all about evolution. It’s all about exploring the hidden secrets of nature. It’s all about the quest to seek answers and solve problems. And that is what engineers do – solve problems! That’s what I want to do – solve problem! I am confident that my four years at Sathyabama will make me what I always longed to become. After all – Entry is not important, Exit is important!
